When you order a print or accessory from givemespace.art, you can feel confident you are buying an original, authentic astronomy photograph captured from Ontario, Canada. No stock photos, stolen or recycled images, or AI-generated fakery.
These are the two telescopes I used to take all of the images on this site. On the left is the workhorse, the William Optics GT81 refractor on a Sky-Watcher HEQ5 Pro mount. Also connected is a Canon Rebel T5i camera and Orion StarShoot Autoguider. This wide-field setup operates at a 374mm focal length and f/4.7. I have also recently acquired a dedicated astronomy camera, the ZWO ASI2600MC Pro.
On the right is my visual telescope, the Sky-Watcher 300P Synscan. While it is not an ideal telescope for photography, I've been having fun shooting solar system objects such as Jupiter and Saturn as well as compact deep-sky objects like planetary nebulae using a ZWO ASI224MC planetary camera.
My interest in astronomy was ignited relatively late in life. Like most people, I had very little idea of all the incredible stuff drifting out there in the cosmos. A backyard telescope and a little curiosity was all it took to blow my mind wide open.
I'm a visual astronomer first and foremost. Finding and viewing objects in real time is my passion, but photographing these objects allows me to share my discoveries and maybe even ignite a similar passion in others.
When you buy a print or accessory from my site, it allows me to keep doing what I do, make critical repairs or upgrades, and continue to share my experience under the stars.
When you look through a telescope, or gaze up at the night sky, it feels as though you are surrounded by a dome of fixed stars and celestial objects, as if Earth is the central hub and all this other stuff is mere decoration.
In truth, Earth is no more or less important than any other place, and the wondrous images you see on givemespace.art are no more or less exotic than what we see in our everyday surroundings. The creek down the road; the sun overhead; the galaxy next door: these are all different parts of the same place. The Universe seems endlessly vast and incomprehensible, but it is where we live.
